Senior Business Analyst
A Minneapolis client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support a project to actively manage incentive effectiveness and align corporate objectives, field behavior, and member need to achieve the business benefits. This position is responsible for evaluating business processes for the purpose of identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in technology, work process, and content through elicitation, analysis, validation, specification, verification, and management of the business requirements of organizations customers. The Senior Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. Duties would include, but not limited to the following:
- Work directly with management, Business users, and IT staff to elicit, analyze, validate, define, document and manage business and system requirements
- Represent business needs and detailed business information to project teams and sponsors
- Provide knowledge of business process analysis tools and methods, participating in and supporting process improvement endeavors
- Provide consulting and information from a business and systems perspective
Knowledge/Skills Requirements
- Excellent planning, coordination, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build excellent relationships, in person and virtually, and to motivate and influence others
- Must be proactive, action orientation, decisive, and collaborative
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service, decision-making, conflict management, teamwork, and coaching capabilities
- Proficient with MS Project Office 2010 Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
- Knowledge of Business Process modeling through UML
Education & Experience required
- College degree in business, mathematics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent business experience
- 10+ years experience in Business Systems Analysis
- 2+ years experience in Business Architecture / Business Process Reengineering
- Extensive experience in writing Use Cases, Complex Business Rules, Use Case Storyboarding, and Scenario creation
- Experience in project management methodologies (processes) and tools, facilitating workshops and process modeling with business areas, and guiding and helping business users with creating business process and procedure manuals
- Experience with Financial Services back-office integration programs
Experience Preferred
- Experience working with UL/VUL, Health, Retirement Annuities, Term Life, Whole Life and Annuity systems
- Experience working with Callidus, TrueComp or other Compensation Systems
- Project Experience with Life, Health Insurance and Annuity Products
- Experience with Data Analysis and Modeling and End User training
